All incoming exchange students should have submitted the proof of health insurance valid in Korea to the Office of International Affairs (OIA) along wih the appllication documents by the application deadline. If you have missed the deadline, you may send the insurance certificate via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that failure to submit the proof of health insurance may delay the issuance of Letter of Acceptance and Certificate of Admission, which are required for visa process. All students must make sure to submit a valid health insurance prior to the start of the semester.
It is important for your own safety to be covered by a valid insurance plan. There can be unexpected accidents or emergency cases where you will have to go to the hostpital. If you do not have a valid insurance, you are going to have to bear a large sum of medical bills on your own.
Please remember to bring a copy of your health insurance or your insurance card with you when you come to Sogang University. Check the coverage details carefully prior to your departure. Some insurance plans have affiliated hostpitals that you can use free of chrage, others might ask you to pay the medical bills first and then reimburse the amount later.
If it is not possible for you to purchase an insurance from your home country, you may purchase insurance designated by Sogang University. In such case, please inform the Office of International Affairs at email@example.com
