내용 : Not only are ceramic coatings used as a hard protective and barrier coating, but they can also make the surface of any base material with good functional properties. In order to create highly functional surfaces, specific nanostructures with high crystallinity are essential. In this work, we employed a low-temperature hydrothermal processing to grow various nanostructured coatings of TiO2 (rutile, anatase), ZnO, and their hybrid structures. In particular, TiO2 (anatase) and ZnO coatings exhibited very high photocatalytic deactivation of organic contaminants and strong bacteria killing behavior under both dark and UV environment. For further enhancement, nanocomposite structures were also developed via a secondary nanophase built around the vertically aligned nanorods. Such hybrids exhibited the greater photoresponsive properties than either of the constituents. Due to low-temperature processing, a current processing protocol can be applicable to numerous applications for water and chemical effluent purification, self-cleaning surfaces, organic contamination removal, antibacterial surfaces, and thin film photovoltaics.
