제목:  Selective deformation of monolayer MoS2 by illuminating laser & Low frequency Raman peaks observed in rolled graphene
 

  2-dimensional materials such as graphene and MoS2 have attracted much research interest for future electronics and optoelectronics due to their unique properties. In this colloquium, we report, for monolayer MoS2, one can selectively deform the part of monolayer by laser irradiation. We argue the difference in the thermal expansion between the substrate and MoS2 can give rise to the mechanical deformation. The strain engineering might provide a useful tool with enhancing the performance of electronic and optoelectronic devices. In addition, we discuss rolled graphene structure. In Raman spectroscopy, we have observed peculiar low frequency Raman peaks below 120 cm-1, and compared them with the peaks observed in folded graphene. Finally, if time allows, we report magneto-transport of low-dimensional materials probed up to 60 T and the electrical noise in such materials
